Seems like the snow finally started to die down at around mid-afternoon, but then it started again a little while later. Let’s just hope that tomorrow morning, I won’t be waking up to piles and piles of snow at our doorstep! But at least I know where my mittens are, just in case!
Okay, so after a few trips to the Halloween stash of chocolates, I finally decided to have lunch. I made a huge salad comprised of romaine lettuce, radicchio lettuce, cucumbers, celery, green bell peppers and carrots. It was topped off with some shredded chicken breast along with Italian dressing. I enjoyed this lovely salad with a cup of tea.
This was the last of the chicken breasts that were in the fridge, and I probably won’t be preparing any more this week, since I plan on going back home on Friday. If I can, I try to cook in batches that way I can have everything prepped and ready - especially for when I want to make something quick. Plus, it makes things so much more easier for me too, such as having the celery already chopped up and washed, carrots already peeled and rinsed, and so forth. It really helps on those days that I feel lazy in the kitchen, which tends to be quite often.
And I had room for dessert after that salad. I ended up finding some vanilla chip ice cream in the freezer! It was my first time trying it, and it was pretty good - vanilla ice cream with small pieces of chocolate (I added a handful of almonds to it too), but I couldn’t really taste the chocolate. So, what did I do? I made one more trip to the Halloween chocolate stash afterwards! Halloween is over, but I think I’m still celebrating, aren’t I? Shame, shame, I know.
Later on in the afternoon, I nibbled on some crackers and almonds while working through some Finance practice problems. (I think I had too many crackers though - definitely need to watch my portion control) Oh, but something to be happy about is that I actually made a long list of things that I have to get done, with the corresponding deadlines. This will be very useful for me, because I tend to like to see the whole picture of things. A while later, I had a bowl of kashi go lean cereal mixed with fiber 1 cereal, along with a splash of organic soy milk.
Something off topic is that my Operations Management class has a current assignment where you and your group members run a Littlefield Technology factory for one week. The simulation started last Friday, so it ends this upcoming Friday. (It’s just like those management games that are on the market, such as Roller Coaster Tycoon) So far our team is in 12th of out 78, which is pretty good seeing that we just purchased inventory so our cash has just recently decreased!
Our factory control ends this Friday at about noon, and then it runs automatically for fifty days (which is really 50 hours) and your final standings are determined by your ending cash. I’m hoping we can boost our overall standing even higher if we keep at our current factory settings since the demand doesn’t seem to be fluctuating too much, and we just need to keep enough inventory so that we can withstand those fifty days after. Wish us luck!
Okay, so back to the delicious food bites. Later on in the late afternoon/early evening, I decided to enjoy a juicy, crunchy gala apple. They seem to last quite long in the fridge if you keep them in the colder sections, or so, that is what seems to happen for me. I don’t recall ever coming across a bad apple in the fridge - maybe not as crispy, but not rotten by any means.
So, now back to work! I need to do worksheets on Excel for my Management Studies class, and some of the formulas are a little confusing.

eats looks good! i totally know what you mean about cooking in batches…helps to keep things from going bad.
and good luck!!

I’m so glad I don’t have any Halloween chocolate stash left. I don’t think I would handle that very well at all.
Best of luck with your complicated sounding class haha

I think cereal and (soy) milk is one of the best snacks there is!

I think it’s fitting that it is socially unacceptable for adults to go trick or treating. Kids are the ones that can take/handle a bucket load of candy. You should only give an adult a bucket full of candy if you want something bad to happen to them.

Snow?! I’m impressed that you can eat something as healthy as a salad when it’s so cold outside! Kudos to that!
